Birdy beautiful lies

Birdy 的 Words 這首歌唱片公司把標題翻成「千言萬語」，其實我個人覺得應該要叫做「無以言對」才是，不過為了讓大家好搜尋，我還是在歌詞中依照上下文做了一些更動，讓標題「千言萬語」也說得通了。

這首歌的概念和 Beautiful Lies 也很類似，說的是在一段戀情中，明知道另一半對自己已經沒有愛，卻仍不願面對真相，寧願一直被蒙在鼓裡，只要對方守在自己身邊，即使沒有愛、沒有火花，也要說服自己沒有事、一切都會好轉。不過 Words 似乎已經進入到 Beautiful Lies 的下一個階段了，知道在這樣欺騙自己也不是辦法，只好學會接受現實。

歌詞第一段，戀人還守候在自己身旁，但”you tell me with your eyes what you need”，顯然對方所需要的並不是她。即使知道如此，她卻仍說 “All the things you hide for me I accept them”，暗示著或許對方的心已另有所屬，不過為了暫時留住他，敘事者還是故作堅強，說自己不會刺探對方的秘密，因為她不想要真相大白，她不願接受對方已不愛自己的事實。

然而，她再也無法忍受每天哭著入睡，醒來時淚還沒乾。”You’re in the clear”，她承認，對方不再愛她，這並非他的錯。既然對方不願回心轉意，她只好忍痛放手。她心裡有千言萬語想說，卻一句也說不出口，「再見」兩個字太痛，她最後的心願就是要對方替她說出口。

又是一個令人心痛的故事。分手的歌或許已經被唱到爛掉了，但不知為何 Birdy 唱起來仍然有一種很清新的感覺，彷彿每一句歌詞都在說我們自己的故事，真實到令人心痛。
