New Order 是 1980 年代的英国摇滚乐团，曲风属于另类摇滚，也会掺杂电音和庞克舞曲元素。

这首歌名为”Temptation”(诱惑)，但我想歌名本身就是个讽刺，讽刺著受到诱惑的人们，最终也会对又或感到厌烦，甚至黯淡无味。

歌曲开头便是叙事者准备向爱人（或其他对他来说是个诱惑的人事物）提出分手，虽然难以开口，但既然已失去兴趣，他就必须这么做。过去，他的爱人对他来说是个诱惑，但是”From time to time I find I’ve lost some need/ It was urgent to myself, I do believe”，这个曾经重要的人现在已可有可无，他不再需要对方，甚至想逃离他，因为爱人已成为束缚自己的框架。

“Oh, you’ve got green eyes, oh, you’ve got blue eyes, oh, you’ve got grey eyes”则是透过眼睛的颜色来投射对对方的情感（请看图片上方注解）。接下来”And I’ve never seen anyone quite like you before”也是个讽刺，表面上看起好像在夸对方独一无二，因此自己才被深深吸引，但事实上，我们每个人都没什么不同，即使最初觉得对方新鲜神秘，最后也会感到厌烦。

一个人是否会成为我们的”诱惑”，似乎超越了我们能掌握的范围。我们只不过是被命运玩弄的棋子，每个人都和其他棋子长得一模一样，偶然受到一点刺激，便以为是诱惑，以为对方或自己与众不同，最终只是被抛弃或抛弃别人的其中之一。

在欢闹的旋律下述说著这么厌世的心情，或许有些难以理解，但若有一天真有这种感觉，就听听这首歌自嘲吧！
