Birdy beautiful lies

期待已久的 Birdy 新專輯 Beautiful Lies 終於在 3/25 發行，到現在還是很難相信我很喜歡的歌手是位年紀比我小好幾歲的人，每次聽 Birdy 的歌都覺得又欣賞又感慨。

Deep End 是這張專輯中我第二喜歡的歌曲（第一是 Beautiful Lies）。歌詞內容也帶有滿多 Beautiful Lies 的影子，我覺得和其他愛情/分手的歌很不一樣的是敘事者不只是替這份情感到悲痛，同時也因困惑及不捨而寧願繼續愛在謊言的陰影下也不願分開。第一段是敘事者猶豫不決，不知是否該放下這段感情。旁人告訴她分開後並不會令她快樂，”They say there’ll be plenty other hands to hold/ Now I wish they’d told me long ago”表達了她陷入瓶頸，要是早知道談這場戀愛會如此痛苦，她寧可一開始就不要與這個戀人在一起，因為她實在太愛他了，現在捨不得放手。

雖然愛著對方，但是愛情裡難免有爭執，”I don’t know if you mean everything to me/ And I wonder, can I give you what you need?”，她開始懷疑兩人是否真的適合，是不是能帶給對方快樂。但這個問題只是令她更加頭痛、心痛，所以她寧可忽視，相信一切會慢慢好轉，假裝兩人之間不曾有問題。她太孤單而不敢分手，害怕一旦分開就必須獨自面對寂寞，於是她選擇假裝看不見兩人之間的鴻溝，相信一旦擺著擺著久了，所有傷痛就會自動淡去。
