Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

其实这首歌我听了无数次还是不能很肯定它的意思，但最后推论出这种可能性之后，就开始觉得好像每一句歌词都说得通了。歌词写得很美，但其实是一个关于强暴与孤独的故事。

第一段我们大概可以知道歌词的主角是一个非常寂寞、脆弱，但又伪装坚强的人。他硬撑著不愿低头，只想把自己当作一个“正常人”。但接着，有x光眼的女人，看透的他的伪装。她了解其实他的内心非常需要人陪伴，因此便利用这个弱点勾引他。”It’s hard to swallow like the pill/ That was twisted on your tongue”指的是一开始他想拒绝那女人的诱惑，但毕竟他是个空虚需要爱的人，最后仍然屈服于她的吻。歌词一直到这里都还没有很明显的暴力，但下一句 “There was no-one to be seen/ No-one left to hear my scream” 就开始变得黑暗了。x 光眼的女人侵犯了他，他试图求救，但没有人听见、没有人看见。

下一段的 “As she swallowed space and time “，除了可以当作是在性高潮时感觉到时空都静止了之外，”swallow”（吞）当然也有口交的暗示。”We gathered pearls and swine” 中的 pearls 指的是性爱中快乐的部分，但这份快乐毕竟不是两厢情愿，所以也含有 swine （猪）（引申为兽性）下流的意味在其中。接着 “She shot me to the sun/ Like a bullet from a gun” 令人联想到 Noel Gallagher’s 的另一首歌 If I Had a Gun 的歌词 “If I had a gun, I’d shoot a hole into the sun/ And love would burn this city down for you” 。不过当然在 If I Had a Gun 中，是充满爱意与浪漫，而在这首歌中，gun 则是代表射精、暴力。

那女人利用完他之后，便丢下他一个人。因此他又回到了第一段的寂寞状态，只能安慰自己 “Turn the page and let it go”，放手别再惦记那女人，那女人所秉持的信念和自己不同，她所相信的都是 “The truth is on your stereo”，意指那女人只是一个追求世俗价值，追求收音机里流行音乐般短暂的快乐。

很难想像一首充满性与暴力的黑暗歌曲能以如此隐晦而充满想像空间的文字包装起来。不得不佩服 Noel Gallagher 的作词。要是这种主题处理得不好就会显得下流，但这首歌初步听起来、看起来完全没有涉及到黑暗面，细细推敲才发现它背后的故事。当然或许我的解释只是其中一个解释，如果各位对这首歌有不同的见解也请和我分享吧。
