很久沒有聽到英國搖滾樂團 Radiohead 電台司令的新歌，Radiohead 自 2011 年久違的新作在今年聖誕節發行。當初 Spectre 是爲 007 系列電影《Spectre 惡魔四伏》所作的同名主題曲，但最後卻沒有被採用，而是選擇了 Sam Smith 的”Writing’s on the Wall”作為電影主題曲。

Radiohead 主唱 Thom Yorke 曾在 Twitter 表示：「去年我們應邀寫一首關於龐德電影的歌。雖然沒被採用，但是我們自己非常喜歡，接近年末，我想你們可能會想聽到，聖誕節快樂，願力量與你們同在！」

我個人認為 Sam Smith 的”Writing’s on the Wall”和 Radiohead 的 “Spectre” 都是經典之作，不過如果以符合大眾口味來講，或許”Writing’s on the Wall”會更受歡迎。

Spectre 這首歌讓我想到Radiohead 以前的 Pyramid Song，除了曲風之外，尤其是”Futures tricked by the past”這一句歌詞，似乎對應到了 Pyramid Song 裡面的 “All my lovers were there with me/ All my past and futures/ And we all went to heaven in a little row boat”。兩首歌都是描述死亡與愛，但是以不同角度來描寫。Spectre 歌曲中所描述的主角似乎對自己的過去念念不忘，有些羈絆使他無法向前，但同時，他又受到新的事物所吸引，無法抵抗未來。”My hunger burns a bullet hole”這一句歌詞則可以呼應到先前的歌曲 “Bulletproof… I Wish I Was”，這裡的 hunger 當然不是說真的飢餓，而是心靈的空虛，因為自己的過去而無法再有歸屬感，無法再脫離這種空虛感，就如同惡靈一樣纏著他，無法擺脫。
