Burning Desire 也是一首很強烈 Lana Del Rey 風格的歌曲。歌詞中的某些意象，如開快車、失去戀人、試圖挽回，都是 Lana 的歌曲中一再出現的元素。

一開始聽這首歌，或許會以為是在描述熱戀中的情侶，不過到了歌詞第四段，我們才慢慢知道，原來前幾段的敘述都是在回憶過去，如今，舊時甜蜜的話語和舉動都只能用來回味而已。”I drive fast” 指的並不只是單只是實質上的開快車，而是說回憶在腦海中快速播放，而自己也像在奔馳一樣，希望能追上終點的戀人，但卻始終沒有追上；” radio blares”則是透過收音機來將自己投射到想像中的世界，由於得不到戀人的愛，所以只能虛構一個世界，透過想像來讓自己好過一點。整首歌中，我想最令人心痛的地方在”I’m feeling scared and you know it”，戀人早就知道分開後，她會繼續深愛著他，知道離開後她無法一個人生存下去，但他仍然選擇離開，任憑她心中的戀火繼續燃燒，或許有一天會自焚，那時，她就可以真正到達她想像中的另一個世界了吧。
