Avenged Sevenfold (七级炼狱 ) 是来自美国加州的重金属乐团，这一首 Dear God 可以算是极少数曲风稍微温和一点的深情情歌，和专辑中的其他摇滚、金属很不一样。

总觉得悲伤的情歌很容易引起共鸣。彻底心碎或是爱得死去活来的情歌容易令人感到滥情，不过像这种关于后悔、关于分手后还希望对方好好过的情歌，反而更能让人喜欢。我想，这首歌之所以感人，是因为主角并不说自己多爱对方，而是透过歌名 Dear God 及歌词中的祷告，来让听众感觉到对对方的关照。即使当初是因为自己的自私或一时冲动而分手，此刻却希望，即使在她身旁的不是自己，也要神确保她的安危，如果自己已经无法挽回，起码要一个伟大的力量去陪伴着爱人，别让她像自己一样孤单徬徨。

我觉得是一首会越听越悲伤，但同时又觉得十分温情的歌曲，有点暗自希望 Avenged Sevenfold 能再偶尔换换路线走这类的歌XD
