个人非常不喜欢以音乐的名义来散播宗教思想，一开始听这首歌的时候觉得真是可惜了，旋律还不错的音乐就这样被那一句又一句没完没了的 god is good god is great 给毁了，不过听了一阵子久以后，感觉这应该不是真的在传教的音乐吧！而是一首以 god 做为象征的音乐，以神来象征一切人们所推崇的高高在上的真理或各种人事物，象征那些人们盲目追寻、从来不曾怀疑过的崇高的一切。那穿插在每段歌词之间的 god is good god is great 不是真的歌颂神，而是让我们看清大家是如何一味这么相信着他们心目中的神。

除了指出大众盲从的现象，另一方面，我想这首歌真正要表达的，更像是站在一个不同的立场，让人们看到，神，或者被众人崇拜的明星、领袖、英雄，他们都有不为人知的一面、不堪的一面、不是风风光光的一面、辛苦难熬的一面，又或者应该说，平凡的一面，就像你我一样平凡、一样有悲有喜。

“If God had a face/ what would it look like/ And would you want to see” 答案大概是 no 吧！如果将一个人摆在高高在上的位置崇拜著，而自己只是远远的低低的膜拜著追随着，丝毫不曾有一点怀疑，那么有一天，这伟大的神就突然变成车上的路人，和自己做着一模一样的事，买车票刷卡吃零食，那么这个我们长久以来一直崇拜著的“神”的形相还在吗？即使还在，那么，他的形相依旧是像从前那样高高在上的吗？

距离产生美感，这也适用在人们对偶像的崇拜吧！或许这些偶像是只可远观不可亵玩的，我们崇拜他们，那他们呢？他们怎么办？信徒们有挫折有痛苦找神告解，歌迷太无聊找歌手签名，老百姓有难找超人相救，那这些高高在上的人们伤心难过有困难时，谁来帮他们解决？

每个人都有自己的故事，超人也一样，英雄偶像也一样，没有人永远高高在上，没有人不曾难过不曾脆弱，再坚强的人也需要被爱被安慰。
