西班牙獨立創作歌手 Russian Red 清純甜美的歌聲彷彿帶著你我到一個充滿異國情調的世界。 Cigarettes 一曲伴隨著吉他，嗓音中洋溢著熱情，再加上淘氣的曲風，也難怪此曲選作為 2009 年西班牙電影《卡蜜諾》主題曲。

Cigarettes 一曲看似俏皮、活潑，歌詞背後的含義卻不簡單。歌詞中把暗戀的對象比喻成 Cigarettes （香菸），雖然吸菸時能夠感到暫時的愉悅或放鬆，但長時間下來是一種既傷身又花錢的行為，以此暗喻愛著一個不在自己的人是一個錯誤的選擇，一方面浪費了自己的時間、青春，另一方面還要背負被傷透心的痛苦、失望。要是真的陷入這段情，就要冒著受傷的險，然而實際情況卻是更糟，對敘事者來說，他就像一根還沒抽過的菸一樣，她連品嚐愛情（吸菸的喜悅）的機會都沒有，連向他表白的機會都還沒有 （all the letters that I have never sent），就已經先出局了。”He was scared, cause it wasn’t his time”，這一句比較難理解一點，我在想或許是敘事者將自己害怕表白的心情投射到對方身上，認為時機未到，她還不能說出口。”Getting older’s not been on my plans” 則是指為了一個不愛自己的人浪費了多少青春歲月，感到心有不甘，但要是對方真的答應自己的話，兩人要在一起永遠不嫌遲 （never late enough for me to stay）。
