剛聽到這首歌時，只是被 Regina Spektor 的那種空靈的聲音所吸引，細看歌詞，又對這背後的故事感到讚嘆。Samson 是聖經中的大力士，他的力量來自頭髮。他因為遭受許多挫折後開始墮落，便與妓女 Deliah 交往，以致落入陷阱，頭髮被剪掉而力量全失。後來他真心悔改，神再次賜予他力量。在一次戰鬥中，他承受不住廟宇梁柱的重量而被擊垮。

這首歌雖然是以這個聖經故事為背景，不過卻著重在故事的另一面：愛情。歌曲以 Deliah 的角度來寫，訴說她與 Samson 相識時的那份真情。歌詞中的”Bible didn’t mention us”的意思，我想應該是指裡面完全沒有提到兩人相愛的部分，只是一面倒地將 Deliah 描寫成一個惡毒的女人，還有 Samson 墮落的過程。雖然說在聖經中，Samson 確實是因為 Deliah 才喪失力量，但若因為這樣的結果就忽略兩人相愛的過程，或許也是一種殘忍。

這首歌還有另一個解讀方式，據說 Regina Spektor 曾經有個得癌症病重的男友，而整首歌是在緬懷這位因病而未能有好結果的戀人。因為做化療的關係，頭髮漸漸脫落，而 Bible didn’t mention us 指的則是兩人未能在神的見證下成婚。
