注：綠色眼睛代表兩人初相遇時的新鮮與神秘感，兩人交往了一陣子，新鮮感變少了，憂愁變多了，變成了憂鬱的藍色眼睛。最後，開始覺得對方了無生氣，只剩下黯淡的灰色。

New Order 是 1980 年代的英國搖滾樂團，曲風屬於另類搖滾，也會摻雜電音和龐克舞曲元素。

這首歌名為”Temptation”(誘惑)，但我想歌名本身就是個諷刺，諷刺著受到誘惑的人們，最終也會對又或感到厭煩，甚至黯淡無味。

歌曲開頭便是敘事者準備向愛人（或其他對他來說是個誘惑的人事物）提出分手，雖然難以開口，但既然已失去興趣，他就必須這麼做。過去，他的愛人對他來說是個誘惑，但是”From time to time I find I’ve lost some need/ It was urgent to myself, I do believe”，這個曾經重要的人現在已可有可無，他不再需要對方，甚至想逃離他，因為愛人已成為束縛自己的框架。

“Oh, you’ve got green eyes, oh, you’ve got blue eyes, oh, you’ve got grey eyes”則是透過眼睛的顏色來投射對對方的情感（請看圖片上方注解）。接下來”And I’ve never seen anyone quite like you before”也是個諷刺，表面上看起好像在誇對方獨一無二，因此自己才被深深吸引，但事實上，我們每個人都沒什麼不同，即使最初覺得對方新鮮神秘，最後也會感到厭煩。

一個人是否會成為我們的”誘惑”，似乎超越了我們能掌握的範圍。我們只不過是被命運玩弄的棋子，每個人都和其他棋子長得一模一樣，偶然受到一點刺激，便以為是誘惑，以為對方或自己與眾不同，最終只是被拋棄或拋棄別人的其中之一。

在歡鬧的旋律下述說著這麼厭世的心情，或許有些難以理解，但若有一天真有這種感覺，就聽聽這首歌自嘲吧！
