Lana Del Rey 有不少歌曲翻唱別人的作品，而且都是名曲（例如她翻唱過Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood 的Summer Wine）。這麼做需要很大的勇氣，翻唱的歌曲本身就有知名度，要是翻唱作品沒有自己獨特的風格，反而容易被人嫌。不過幸好 Lana 就是一位很有特色的歌手，所以翻唱的作品也都別有一翻新的風格。

這首 Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood 原本是 Nina Simone 1964年的作品，已經有多位歌手翻唱過。歌詞內容敘述一個充滿矛盾的女人（或許可以說所有人都是如此），她有光明與黑暗的一面，人生順利時，她可以溫柔如天使，但當有事情搞砸時，她也可以瞬間變成惡魔，或許會無意中傷了她最愛的人，但她解釋道，若她不小心傷了她的愛人，那絕非出於她的本意。畢竟她也只是個凡人，無法永遠保持內心天使的一面。

我想，愛一個人，必須要有很大的包容，就像Jone Legend在All of Me 裡面唱的，”Cause all of me loves all of you/Love your curves and all your edges/All your perfect imperfections”，愛上她的所有，她的稜稜角角，以及她的完美與不完美。
