我喜歡這首歌是因為香菸的比喻。在歌曲開頭就說到 ” Light me up a Cigarette And put it in my mouth “，敘事這要她的戀人替自己點根菸，並且放入她的嘴裡。看似一個簡單的動作，到底和後續的歌詞有何關係呢？香煙是會慢性殺死她的物品，就好像她的戀人一樣。平常相處時或許有點小小的不愉快，以為沒什麼，但日復一日累積下來的不愉快，就像香煙一樣。她既愛他又恨他。她為他著迷，明知道對自己有害，卻又戒不了他的癮。

她的戀人之於她，就像一根慢性毀滅她的煙。他謊話連篇，說自己是世界上唯一愛她的人，但她已看透了這伎倆，不再相信這些謊言。她繼續與戀人在一起，不願分別的原因，只是因為戒不掉，但彼此都明白，兩人之間不再有信任，不再有可能。
